AIF
Category II AIF explained
What this AIF category may include and the commitment, liquidity and documentation considerations involved.
Category II Alternative Investment Funds include privately pooled strategies that do not fall within Category I or Category III and do not ordinarily use leverage except as permitted for operational needs.
Offerings may follow private equity, private credit, real estate or other permitted strategies. Investors may face high minimum commitments, drawdowns, long holding periods and limited liquidity.
Strategy, fees, valuation, conflicts, taxation and risks vary by fund. Read the private placement memorandum, contribution agreement and related disclosures carefully.
